About us
Babel Tarida a space for life, art, creation.
Casa-Taller Babel Tarida is a place to take care of our planet, life, the arts and our vital core.
It is a house and, at the same time, a workshop. As a house, it welcomes, shelters and invites diversity and participation. As a workshop, it seeks to open spaces conducive to the creation, visibility, distribution and commercialization of artistic and cultural creations by different artists and cultural agents friends. As a space, it seeks to find a more organic and sincere link between art and daily life, generating memory of the aesthetic bets developed within it.

The story
The name Babel Tarida has its origin in a children's art workshop created by Rocío Arenas Iriarte in the mid-eighties, aimed at children from the La Soledad neighborhood. In that workshop, located in the parking lot of her house, dance, theater and music classes were taught. This was the initial dream of Rocío, mother of one of the current managers of this space, Agnes Brekke. Together with Frey Español, we decided to honor that dream, since Rocío, who had the vision to create that workshop in the eighties, now provides the space to bring this project to life.
Today, the Babel Tarida workshop houses its cultural space on the first floor, which includes the ceramics workshop with a monthly programme of workshops and exhibitions; and an area for sharing, creating art laboratories, workshops, gatherings and conversations. A place to create new interdisciplinary artistic dreams.
